Extensive and rigorous AI training data
At π1 Labs, we generate training data that expose weaknesses in the reasoning capabilities of advanced AI models. Our team consists entirely of professional mathematicians and physicists from leading universities and research institutions, including many IMO and IPhO medalists. Our core function is to produce novel, complex problems in mathematics and physics, ranging from the Olympiad to the research level, that are intractable for current AI. These problems are designed to target specific weaknesses, or "holes," in an AI's logical and abstract reasoning. Every problem is developed internally and undergoes a meticulous review for originality, completeness, and rigour. They are accompanied by comprehensive, step-by-step solutions, creating a powerful dataset for training AI to overcome its reasoning limitations. We intend to expand into chemistry and biology while maintaining the same level of quality.
Datasets
In addition to producing original Olympiad problems in all areas at both the highschool and undergraduate levels, our mathematics team has members specialized in the areas of algebraic and arithmetic geometry, algebraic and differential topology, low-dimensional topology and knot theory, homotopy theory, algebraic and analytic number theory, analysis, dynamical systems, Riemannian geometry, PDEs and mathematical general relativity, etc.
Our physics team, besides producing Physics Olympiad problems and undegraduate level problems, constructs problems in foundational areas such as condensed matter physics, general relativity, quantum field theory, and cosmology and astrophysics, ensuring that our datasets deeply cover a broad range of topics in modern physics. At the research and graduate level, our problems delve into frontier areas such as string theory, theoretical particle physics, quantum error correction, and atomic physics.
Our carefully crafted problems allow AI systems to engage with questions at the cutting edge of scientific research. Depending on your needs, we also provide detailed and rigorous chains of thought.
About Us
π1 Labs started as a group of mathematicians from top universities with the objective of providing problems and solutions of the highest quality that cutting-edge AI models cannot solve. The group has since expanded to include other mathematicians and physicists from top universities and research institutions.
All our team members have an understanding of a wide range of areas in their disciplines, along with expert-level knowledge of their research areas. This allows us to produce problems of various difficulties in a wide range of areas of mathematics and physics. Members are chosen for their accomplishments as research mathematicians and physicists, many of whom are also medalists in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) and International Physics Olympiad (IPhO).
